A very popular Genealogy Day was held at the DeValera Library in Ennis on 24th August in conjunction with National Heritage Week. A packed and enthusiastic audience picked up tips, hints and ideas on the detective work necessary to track down that elusive ancestor.

Throughout the day, four introductory talks were delivered for those interested in tracing their family tree in Clare, using locally available resources. Topics covered included Getting Started, School Registers, Civil Records, and Assisted Passage.
The day also saw the launch of Clare County Library’s ‘Tracing Your Family Tree’ brochure, which is now available at all branch libraries in the county.
