Details of the annual Book Club of the Year Award have been announced by Ennis Book Club Festival in association with Clare County Library. The Award will be presented at the 2012 Festival in the County Clare town on 2-4th March. To enter the competition you are invited to submit 300 words or less on what makes your book club special. The winning book club will receive a weekend break for up to 6 people at The Temple Gate Hotel in Ennis for the 2012 Festival. The winner will also receive 6 weekend Festival Tickets, allowing the holders admission to all events. The closing date is 13th January 2012 and the prize is worth €1,000. Full details of the 2102 programme will be available in the New Year. In addition to author readings, discussions and workshops, there are sessions on running book clubs, walking tours, wine tastings, events as Gaeilge and especially an opportunity to compare notes and to meet with other readers.
