Pathways to Learning Implementation Team
Terms of Reference
The Pathways to learning implementation Team (PALIT) is tasked with establishing and developing the PAL programme. PALIT support and oversees cross-sectoral library service provision under the programme, as follows:

To identify the aims and objectives of cross-sectoral and/or thematic library service provision across a region or theme.

To develop an enabling framework for reciprocal agreements within and across national, regional and local authority boundaries.

To identify funding and plan its allocation in accordance with the terms of reference laid down by COLICO.

To co-ordinate the identification and discovery of relevant library and information resources.

To support, monitor and co-ordinate a regional and/or thematic provision scheme(s).

To manage the roll-out of the programme, including marketing and promotion.

To promote the opportunities and mutual benefits of PAL to users, their service providers, and their founders.

To encourage and to seek mechanisms to facilitate awareness regarding special collections of benefit/interest to their users among library staff at local, regional, Irish and UK levels.

To address any other issues that may arise from the development of the programme as required by COLICO including participation in the evaluation, review and the development of guidelines for sustainability of PAL.
PALIT was established as a sub-committee of COLICO, with representatives from An Chomhairle Leabharlanna; LISC (NI); The British Library; and from each PAL project. The Chair of PALIT shall be the immediate past Chair of COLICO, who shall present a report to each meeting of COLICO.
