COLICO Sponsorship to IAML International Conference 2011

COLICO will sponsor two delegates to attend the IAML International Conference (Dublin, 24-29th July 2011)

The Committee co-ordinates, supports and monitors the Pathways to Learning Programme, including the Music PAL scheme.
COLICO values the IAML International Conference as a development opportunity for the organisations participating in the Music PAL scheme across the island of Ireland. Applicants must be members of staff of organisations participating in the Music PAL scheme.

Completed application form together with an email or scanned letter signed by the Head of Services of the applicant should be sent by email to the COLICO Secretary by Tuesday 7th June 2011.

COLICO joined LIS Research Coalition in the Autumn 2010

COLICO joined LIS Research Coalition as an associate member in October 2010. Linda Houston, Director of LISC Northern Ireland, serves as COLICO's representative for the Coalition.

LIS Research Coalition was established in 2009.  Its mission is to facilitate a co-ordinated approach to Library and Information Science research across the UK. COLICO is the first Irish and cross-border member to join the Coalition. Read more about LIS Research Coalition on their web site.

Events held during 2010

25th November - COLICO meeting , Belfast

28th June - Libraries and Recession: sharing resources and improving skills (LAI Western Regional Section Seminar, Tuam)

COLICO members gave presentations on the PAL programme and its schemes.

24th June - COLICO meeting , Dublin

22nd April - The fifth annual COLICO lecture, Dublin

8th March - Music PAL launch, Dublin

8th March - Cork PAL launch, Cork

The event also included speakers from London Libraries and updates on the Document Supply service and the new BL catalogue.
