In 2007 An Chomhairle completed work on an online database of public library buildings, funded by the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government.
The database provides easy access to detailed information about public libraries opened since 1998, and about public libraries in buildings of historical and/or architectural interest.Visitors to the site can find information on all aspects of the library building, from details of the locality to details of the buildings features and facilities. A selection of photographs of each building is provided as is a link to Google Maps, showing the exact location of each building.
